Following the retirement of the company’s founder – John Trussler as Managing Director, the company has restructured its management.
As a result, we are pleased to announce that Andrew Potter, the companies Contracts Director, has been appointed to the role of Managing Director with effect from 1st April 2006. John will continue in his role as Chairman and Company Secretary.
Andrew has a wealth of industry experience having previously been employed by East Midlands Electricity Contracting, where he originally completed his electrical apprenticeship, and ABB Ltd where he held a number of management positions.
Since joining Cannon Electrical, Andrew has developed the company’s key client base and expanded its services to them. It is the intension of the business to further develop its offerings to benefit both current and potential clients.
It is also with pleasure that we announce that following formal interviews earlier this year, we have subsequently employed Nicholas Long and Stuart Marshall as a Stage 1 Apprentices. Nicholas and Stuart will commence their employment with the company shortly and will join our existing group of 10 apprentice electricians who are currently at various stages of their training.
In recent times, Matthew McNulty, one of Cannon Electrical’s Stage 4 apprentices, won the Electrical Contractors’ Association, Nottingham Branch – ‘Fred Banks’ Memorial Trophy for 2005.
Matthew was the fourth Cannon apprentice to win the award since its commencement in 1973.
Cannon Electrical has an excellent record of training apprentices within the Electrical Contracting industry. Being one of Nottingham’s largest employers of trainees, we have developed many young individuals and, as a result, have produced many competent tradesmen. We recruit several individuals each year in order to produce a ‘rolling programme’ of skilled operatives.
